I am in close collaboration with Keyframe S.L.in digital restoration tasks for cinema from original negative. During the process in Keyframe S.L. the negative is scanned with a Blackmagic scanner at 4k resolution.Before scanning the negative´s joints are cleaned and repared.Then I apply a new grading to the scanned reels with the help of a digital copy of the film for color reference when available. I also try to rescue new details in shadows and highlights allowed by the high dynamic range. Then back at Keyframe S.L.each reel is cleaned eliminating imperfections and the remastered version is ready for delivery.
